Chair’s Statement

Since April 2015, the Trustees of the Plan have been required to prepare an annual governance statement signed by the Chairman of the Plan, known as the “Chairman’s Statement”, listed in the Important Documents section.

New regulations came into force on 6 April 2018 requiring additional information in relation to investment charges and core transaction costs to be made available online to members via the Chairman’s Statement together with extracts from the Plan’s Statement of Investment Principles (SIP). The Chairman’s Statement covering the period from 6 April 2019 to 5 April 2020 includes information on investment costs and charges along with illustrations of the effect of the investment charges and costs on members retirement savings. This can be found in the Important Documents section.

Statement of Investment Principles

Further regulations required trustees to update their SIP by 1 October 2020 to outline their policies on voting and engagement activity by their investment managers. It is a requirement that the updated SIP is available on a publicly accessible website. The Plan’s SIP is available by clicking on the link in the Important Documents section.

Implementation Statement

On 6 June 2019, a requirement was introduced for the Trustee to outline how it has ensured that the policies and objectives set out in the Plan’s SIP have been adhered to over the course of the year. This document is known as an Implementation Statement and the implementation statement for the year ending 5 April 2020 can be found in the Important Documents section.

Impact of COVID on the C-MAC Pension Plan

The Trustee has prepared a communication to members with respect to the impact of COVID 19 on financial markets generally and the Plan. This can be found in the Important Documents section.
